"I Walk Alone" is the third club single from Cher's "Closer to the Truth" album, following the No. 1 Dance Club Songs chart hit "Woman's World" and the No. 2 single "Take It Like a Man." ("Closer to the Truth," in fact, gets its name from a lyric in "I Walk Alone.") "I was instantly excited to start this project for three reasons," Young tells Billboard. "One, stating the obvious, working with Cher again. Secondly, I relate to this song lyrically because it echoes where I am at this moment in my life. Lastly, it was so refreshing because I felt this song is in a perfect tempo and it's also one of my favorites on the album."
