In this video series, Paul Jackson Jr. provides comprehensive demonstrations of guitar parts from various renowned records on which he has performed. In addition to his accomplishments as a recording artist, Jackson is an esteemed session musician with a career spanning several decades. He has collaborated with a artists, such as Michael Jackson (no relation) on the albums Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, and Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix, as well as the Temptations, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, Alexander O'Neal, Five Star (on the album Silk and Steel), Zendeya, The Weeknd, Stanley Clarke, Howard Hewett, Thomas Anders, Patti LaBelle, and Luis Miguel. His work extends to rock musicians such as Chicago and Elton John, jazz performers including George Duke, Jeff Lorber, George Benson, Boney James, Dave Koz, Al Jarreau, Everett Harp, David Benoit, Marcus Miller, Kirk Whalum, and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as Christian artists like BeBe and CeCe Winans, Amy Grant, Ron Kenoly, Leon Patillo, and Don Moen. Additionally, Jackson contributed to several tracks on Daft Punk's album Random Access Memories and Birdy's second album, Fire Within. He also played guitar on Lisa Stansfield's 2014 album, Seven.
Jackson's versatility is evident in his performances across genres on shows such as The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and American Idol.
Paul Jackson Jr. has received a Grammy nomination and served as an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Southern California.
