This course is for any charitable or community organisation considering working with businesses to run corporate volunteering days. These days are often the worst part of a volunteer management role: random business people who know nothing about your mission, showing up unprepared to do work they don't want to do and didn't know they were coming to do. But it doesn't have to be that way! In this course I will teach you how to prepare corporate volunteering projects that are beneficial for your organisation and mission and are inspiring and impactful. Using research and case studies I will explain where we've all struggled in the past and how we can resolve those challenges to build projects that are efficient, effective and perhaps even enjoyable.We will cover common mistakes and challenges and how to solve or avoid them, the differences between businesses and charitable organisations that cause problems, why you should bother working with businesses, how to design successful corporate volunteering projects and what to prepare to make sure you and your organisation are ready to deliver them. We'll also cover common questions such as: should you charge for corporate volunteering days? And is it really worth it?I hope you find it useful.
