Private 5G refers to a mobile network that allows the owner to provide priority access or licensing for its spectrum. The major difference between private and public networks relates to priority access and isolation. This course covers all topics related to Architecture, its challenges, and its benefits, all defining attributes and enablers as well as security in these networks.Unlike 5G public networks, a private 5G network can be reconfigured by its operator so that it can allow different levels of priority access. Certain network activities can always get priority in private 5G. In this, less critical activities can be deprioritized or offloaded to a different network. Private 5G can deliver ultra-low latency and very high bandwidth connections which supports artificial intelligence-driven apps that can serve a number of sensors and endpoints. The 5G SBA (Service-based Architecture) affords the ability to establish different network slices, which comprise completely independent control and user plane functions.
