DescriptionThe Modern Data Centre has changed
Over the last 2 decades, virtualisation has found its way in to almost all modern data centres. Virtualisation provides so many ways to simplify management, maximise uptime and optimise resource usage.
VMware have been at the forefront from the start, and despite the recent growth of Hyper-V, VMware is still the market leader.
From single virtualisation hosts in small businesses to large FinTech Data Centres with thousands of hosts, VMware can deliver some of the most effective solutions in the industry, and modern IT professionals need a solid understanding of what has fast become one of the most important technologies introduced in the 21st century.
About the Trainer
My name is Daniel Harker. I have been using VMware's virtualisation technologies since version 2, and I have spent the last decade working my way through the VMware Certification path. In 2012 I became a VCP, in 2015 I escalated to the VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) qualification and I reached the VMware Certified Impementation Expert (VCIX) Milestone in 2017.
I am a British engineer, living in the North West of England with my partner and 2 children
Who this course is for
This course is intended for people who are new to VMware vSphere. If you're working towards taking the VMware VCP-DCV 2021 certification exam, you'll find the content in this course and the vSphere Professional course (coming soon) to be very useful in your studies.
This course covers all of the topics you are likely to encounter in the the VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA-DCV) Exam and more, so this course alone is also ideal if you're working towards that particular qualification.
Naturally, if you just want to build a new skill set, then this course will show you in depth what vSphere can do.
Course Style
No-one likes Death by PowerPoint. So I try not to use it wherever possible. I have included some short PowerPoint sessions early on in this course, but after this I prefer to teach by demonstration, by showing you how things work in the real world. Other times, I use visual aids as part of instructional videos.
This course has a relaxed but purposeful pace, and most videos are short, so you can decide when and how to watch them.
What you need
Nothing! Just a desire to learn. I do recommend, if you are able, you build your own lab and build some hands-on experience with vSphere.
