MSC Nastran 2020 SP1 with Documentation
« em: 11 de Outubro de 2020, 15:04 »

MSC Nastran 2020 SP1 with Documentation | 3.9 Gb
MSC Software recently released version 2020 SP1 of its flagship finite element analysis (FEA) solver, Nastran. This release  corrects four defects evident in version 2020 that concern the import of Nastran Embedded Fatigue and acoustic pressure results into Patran; corrects a licensing defect concerning the TABLRPC entry; and shell elements SFRP failure indicator output in the Digimat-to-SOL 400 MATDIGI interface.

The highlights of this release include:

- A defect causing Patran 2019 Feature Pack 1 to fail to attach to a Nastran version 2020 Nastran Embedded Fatigue OP2 file is fixed. The OEFTG.DDL HIST items were moved to a separate datablock but actually remained in place causing the Nastran toolkit to fail.
- A defect (related to the above) causing a fatal message on the same fatigue run is fixed.
- Incomplete HDF5 support of Nastran Embedded Fatigue output.
- Incorrect acoustic pressure results read into Patran
- A defect causing a licensing error when Patran accesses the Nastran toolkit with an input deck containing a TABLRPC entry is fixed.

MSC Nastran    is a multidisciplinary structural analysis application used by engineers to perform static, dynamic, and thermal analysis across the linear and nonlinear domains, complemented with automated structural optimization and embedded fatigue analysis technologies, all enabled by high performance computing.

MSC Nastran is based on sophisticated numerical methods, the most prominent being the Finite Element Method. Nonlinear FE problems may be solved with built-in implicit numerical techniques. A number of optimization algorithms are available, including MSCADS and IPOPT.

MSC Nastran is a memory dependent software and users have to make sure that sufficient memory is allotted to MSC Nastran resources (Solver OpenCore, Buffer Pool, Scratch memory etc) to make sure the job runs faster. The command line settings are very much dependent on the model and the solution type. MSC Nastran jobs can be solved using Shared Memory Parallelization (SMP) and Distributed Memory Parallelization (DMP) settings.
