For the last 3 years I have been working as a team manager/coach with our local junior football team. It has changed my life. Working with these children every week and watching them grow and develop as players and people is without doubt one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. This football club has 100's of children at all age groups and does a wonderful job, with very limited resources, to give these children a chance to play football & learn teamwork in a supportive environment.
In the current political climate it often seems to me that children are often forgotten. There is very little funding for them and yet intense media pressure for them to be active.
These songs will be available for 2 months and all proceeds will go to two of our local sports clubs, both of which my son is involved in. Many thanks to all the musicians involved for agreeing to help in this way. Both these clubs provide great opportunities for the boys and girls of our community and they deserve support.
Altofts Juniors AFC
"Altofts Juniors is a grassroots football club for Under 5s up to Under 16s. The Club is a non profit making organisation run by volunteers from the local community. We offer a safe environment for local boys & girls of all abilities to not only learn and enjoy the great game of football but also improve their health and well being. One of our biggest costs and challenges is funding suitable local pitches to train in the winter so to become a partner club with a local school developing a 3G pitch is a great opportunity not to be missed! Any funds raised by Mike will go towards the use of this new multi use 3G pitch which is a great boost to the community sports programme and our football club." Club Chairperson
