Master BIM project management: Revit & Navisworks coordination, clash detection, 4D/5D simulation, and ISO 19650.
What you'll learn
⚡ Plan and lead a large-scale BIM project end-to-end - from writing an EIR and BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to final handover - following ISO 19650 principles
⚡ Coordinate multi-discipline models (architecture, structure, MEP) in Revit and run a professional clash detection workflow in Navisworks
⚡ Build 4D construction schedule simulations and 5D cost estimates directly from a BIM model, and read management reports like the S-Curve
⚡ Set up and manage a Common Data Environment (CDE), automate quality checks with Dynamo, and prepare COBie/As-built handovers for facility management
⚡ Apply core BIM leadership skills - RACI matrices, stakeholder management, risk and issue management, and leading multi-discipline teams
⚡ Complete a full, real-world-style final project: a coordinated, clash-free, time-and-cost-linked BIM model ready for your professional portfolio
Requirements
❗ Basic familiarity with Revit or general BIM concepts (this course focuses on project management and coordination, not on learning Revit modeling from scratch)
❗ No prior project management experience required - every management tool (EIR, BEP, RACI, CDE) is explained from the ground up
❗ Access to Revit and Navisworks is recommended for the hands-on exercises (trial versions are sufficient), though every concept is explained clearly even if you're following along without the software
❗ A genuine interest in thinking like a project manager, not just a modeler
Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence."
Large BIM projects don't fail because of bad modeling - they fail because of bad coordination. Information gets lost between architecture, structure, and MEP teams; clashes are discovered on-site instead of on-screen; and schedules and budgets drift because no one connected the model to time and cost. This course teaches you to lead a large-scale BIM project the way top firms actually do it - following international standards (ISO 19650) and real industry workflows, from the very first planning document to final project handover. You'll follow one consistent sample project throughout the course - a multi-story office and commercial building - and build it up step by step: writing its EIR and BIM Execution Plan, modeling architecture, structure, and MEP in a coordinated way, running a full clash detection cycle in Navisworks, connecting the model to a construction schedule and cost estimate (4D/5D BIM), managing information through a Common Data Environment, and finally, leading the project as a BIM Manager would. What you'll cover:- Section 1 - BIM Fundamentals: what BIM really is, maturity levels, ISO 19650, LOD/LOI/LOIN, team roles, CDE, software ecosystem, and legal/contractual basics- Section 2 - Planning: writing an EIR, pre- and post-contract BEP, scope and success criteria, RACI matrices, team structure, MIDP/TIDP, and running a kickoff workshop- Section 3 - Architecture Modeling: high-detail modeling, families and templates, documentation, phasing, site/topography, and scan-to-BIM- Section 4 - Structure & MEP: structural modeling, MEP systems, multi-discipline coordination, fabrication-level modeling, and fire/life-safety systems- Section 5 - Clash Detection: Navisworks, clash test setup, resolution workflows, professional reporting, BCF, and AI-assisted clash prediction- Section 6 - 4D/5D BIM: schedule and cost simulation, quantity take-off, 6D BIM, and lean construction integration- Section 7 - Information Management: CDE setup, Dynamo automation, dashboards, As-built delivery, and cloud platform comparison- Section 8 - Leadership: the BIM Manager role, stakeholder and risk management, Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid delivery, procurement routes, and organizational BIM adoption- Section 9 - Final Project: a complete, guided project from planning through delivery, plus career and interview preparation
Who this course is for
⭐ Architects, and structural or MEP engineers who already model in Revit and want to move into a BIM Coordinator or BIM Manager role
⭐ BIM Coordinators who want to formalize their knowledge of ISO 19650, clash detection workflows, and CDE management
⭐ Construction project managers who want to genuinely understand how BIM works so they can manage BIM-driven projects with confidence
⭐ Engineering and architecture students and recent graduates preparing for their first BIM-related job interview
⭐ This course is not for complete beginners looking to learn basic Revit modeling - it assumes basic Revit/BIM familiarity and focuses on management, coordination, and leadership
