DescriptionJourney through the story of salvation in Latin.
Begin with Creation. Encounter the Word. Witness the Annunciation and Visitation. Stand at the birth of Christ. Encounter the Lamb of God. Receive The Gift. Discover how much of this story you can understand in Latin.
This course teaches Latin vocabulary through the very texts that tell this story. You will move through carefully selected passages from Genesis, John, Luke, and Matthew, alongside familiar Catholic prayers such as the Sign of the Cross and the Hail Mary.
The progression is intentional. Each passage introduces new vocabulary while reinforcing words you have already learned, allowing your knowledge of Latin to grow as the story unfolds. You will learn to recognize vocabulary in authentic Latin texts, connect the forms you encounter with their dictionary entries, and build the vocabulary you need to understand the texts you read.
The journey begins with In the beginning, God created... and leads through the Incarnation, the coming of Christ, His ministry, and the proclamation of the Gospel. The course culminates in the great declaration of God's love for the world and the promise of eternal life.
