Learn Linux from scratch: terminal, files, permissions, processes, networking, Bash scripting, and system tools.
What you'll learn
⚡ Navigate the Linux filesystem and confidently create, inspect, copy, move, and remove files from the terminal.
⚡ Understand Linux users, groups, permissions, sudo, and secure access.
⚡ Inspect and control processes, jobs, memory, and system load.
⚡ Build pipelines and transform text with grep, find, xargs, cut, sort, sed, and awk.
Requirements
❗ No Linux experience is required. You will learn every concept from the beginning using clear, practical examples.
Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Linux can feel confusing when every guide assumes you already know the language. This course starts at zero and builds a clear mental model before asking you to memorize commands. You will first understand what a computer, an operating system, Unix, GNU, the Linux kernel, and a Linux distribution actually are. Then you will move into practical terminal work step by step.
You will learn how to navigate the filesystem, create and manage files, read help, understand file types and links, and measure disk usage. You will work with users, groups, permissions, ownership, sudo, processes, jobs, memory, and system load. You will connect commands through standard input, standard output, pipelines, and redirection, then search and transform text with tools such as grep, find, xargs, cut, sort, sed, and awk.
The course also covers editing with nano, archives with tar and gzip, package management with APT and dpkg, shared libraries, and compiling a small program with GCC. You will customize the shell, write Bash scripts, use arguments, loops, and functions, and schedule recurring work. Finally, you will inspect networks, DNS, web requests, system logs, time settings, the Linux boot process, systemd, kernel modules, sysctl, and containers.
Every lesson uses simple English, visible examples, and small connected steps. No previous Linux experience is required. By the end, you will be able to work confidently in a Linux terminal, understand why the tools exist, and combine them into a practical backup workflow.
