Do you find yourself thinking about the way you look often?Do you spend lots of time and capacity checking your body or performing behaviours to try and change your appearance?Do you find it difficult to stop calorie counting or hate going out the house without makeup?Are you spending a lot of money on cosmetic procedures and feel unconfident without them?This 40 minute masterclass explores body image preoccupation and appearance over concerns through answering seven questions;What is appearance or body preoccupation?What maintains appearance preoccupation?How can we decrease appearance preoccupation?What is body checking?What are the issues with continuing to change our appearance?How do we face situations that create distress?How do we live in alignment with values outside of our appearance?It explores practical ways to reduce obsessive thoughts, body checking and face situations that you may be avoiding.It includes a downloadable workbook to be explored alongside the masterclass or at a later date.This masterclass is for anyone that feels like the amount they think about their body or the behaviours they engage in to change their body or other aspects of their appearance is having a negative impact on their life. It has been designed so that practitioners that work in the body image, fitness and disordered eating space can also learn practices and strategies to support their clients to lessen body preoccupation.
