FEMAP is an independent CAD and postprocessor from Siemens PLM Software to conduct engineering analysis by finite elements (FINITE Element Analysis - FeA). This means that FEMAP is a link between the user and the core - the kernel that calculates in the tasks of engineering analysis. The FEMAP system integrated with the NX Nastran solver operates based on Microsoft Windows, is included in the Velocity Series product line and is an independent full-featured medium for modeling, simulating and evaluating the results of the product characteristics analysis results.
The FEMAP system on the basis of the NX NASTRAN solver allows you to analyze the dynamics and strength of structures, machinery and structures, to obtain the solution of non-stationary nonlinear spatial problems, the tasks of the mechanics of composites and composite structures, construction and technological mechanics, carry out the analysis of heat transfer, to obtain solving problems of fluid and gas mechanics related multidisciplinary tasks.
The FEMAP base modules with NX NASTRAN allow main types of engineering analysis, such as linear static analysis, frequency analysis and forms of free oscillations, analysis of the loss of stability of structures, analysis of the tasks of stationary and non-stationary heat exchange, the basic possibilities of nonlinear analysis. The basic nonlinear analysis includes the accounting of such nonlinearities as geometric (large deformations, movements, tracking loads) and physical (taking into account nonlinear materials - plasticity, creep, viscoelasticity), the accounting of contact interaction with small movements - "linear" contact, contacting the contact with the condition of continuity . Advanced nonlinear module (Advanced nonlinear) is used in the analysis of large nonlinearities (including deformation [elastomer | elastomers], accounting for spatial contact interaction), combining various types of non-linearities, as well as in modeling and calculating fast nonlinear dynamic processes based on an explicit integration scheme. FEMAP includes three additional modules: FEMAP Flow Solver - allows you to analyze hydro and gas dynamics; FEMAP ADVANCED THERMAL SOLVER - provides a set of opportunities for analyzing heat and mass transfer, including modeling of liquid channels, related convection and analysis of hydro, gas-dynamic streams; Femap Thermal Solver is a solution for thermal analysis and heat transfer analysis. FEMAP is used by specialists of design organizations to model complex structures, systems and processes, such as satellites, aircraft, electronic equipment of military purposes, heavy construction equipment, cranes, sea transport and technological equipment. FEMAP provides solving complex engineering analysis tasks in various industries, for example, such as aerospace, helicopter construction, defense industry and shipbuilding.
