Watercolor is a lot more about suggesting things to the eye, rather than copying what you see directly. In this class, I'll be teaching you a loose and sketchy approach to painting your day to day.
Hi! I'm Elisabetta, an Italian artist based in Turin. I started drawing and painting later in my life and I discovered that anyone can learn through practice: art is a wonderful journey!
With this class, I want to get you started painting, and share some tips on how to approach color, composition and depth more intuitively, so they become second nature to you the more you practice. For your class project, we'll be sketching and painting some Italian food together, my favorite: a True Italian Breakfast in Ink and Watercolor.
You will learn how to:
find inspiration in the world around you,
lay out a pleasant composition,
sketch without fear in pencil and ink using lost and found edges.
mix organic colors to give a better sense of realism to your painting, and
add depth to your sketch through multiple layers of watercolor, and with a little shading.
This class is perfect for beginners, or anybody looking to take back some me time for themselves. Though, watch out! If you start, you won't be able to stop!
After this class, you will be able to sketch and paint not only your own breakfast, but any other object in your house.
