In this class I will teach you a whole pattern design workflow from starting drawing and creating pattern layouts on the iPad to finishing the pattern swatch on the desktop using Adobe Illustrator and the Creative Cloud.

You will learn how to design beautiful rosettes and paisley shapes in Adobe Illustrator on the iPad using all available drawing tools and repeat functions. At the end of this part we use the grid repeat to find balanced pattern layouts in varying degrees of complexity.

After that we hop over to our desktop to give our pattern tiles the finishing touches, they would need to be deliverable to our clients or POD sites.

For this class you need Adobe Illustrator at least on your iPad. If you want to complete with a professional deliverable pattern swatch in the end, you would also need Adobe Illustrator on your computer for the finishing touches. Make sure to update to the newest version of both, so you have access to all the new features.
