Electrical wiring design Solid Edge Wire Harness Design is a module for efficiently creating, laying and organizing wires, cables and harnesses in Solid Edge assemblies. It ensures the joint work of mechanical engineers and electricians on projects and the creation of complete and accurate digital layouts containing both mechanical and electrical parts and assemblies, which eliminates the need for making expensive prototypes. Errors in the design, for example, exceeding the allowable diameter of the wiring harness or too small radius of its bend, are continuously monitored as the design progresses, and the designer is immediately informed about all identified problems. During wiring, reports are generated indicating the length of each cable (including slack and margin for stripping ends) and its parameters. Export ready-to-use join table files,


Automated wiring of cable harnesses
After electrical engineers developed the electrical circuit and tested it on a prototype (this task is becoming increasingly important as the scale and complexity of electrical systems increases), mechanical engineers automatically create cable and wire routing routes using the wizard. The Layout Wizard downloads data from specialized electrical circuit design systems, such as Mentor Graphics, Cimteam, and Vesys, and automatically sends the connection table and parts list to Solid Edge.
