ANSYS has announced the release of ANSYS Structures & Fluids Products 2019 R1, is a comprehensive product suite for modeling fluid flow and other related physical phenomena. It offers unparalleled fluid flow analysis capabilities, providing all the tools needed to design and optimize new fluids equipment and to troubleshoot already existing installations.

About ANSYS Structures & Fluids Products. Intensifying competition, increasing government regulations and more aggressive cost targets are pushing product designs to the edge of what's possible, eroding the boundaries between different physical domains. One result is that it often is no longer possible to ignore the interactions between fluids and the structures that surround them. That's why fluid-structure interaction (FSI) is important. When FSI occurs, fluid flow deforms a physical structure, which in turn changes the fluid flow. This two-way interaction loop continues through multiple cycles, possibly resulting in structural damage and less-than-optimal flow. Traditional fluid flow simulation doesn't account for this interaction, so simulation results may be incomplete and even misleading. The resulting prototype won't perform as expected, and an expensive and time-consuming redesign will be necessary.
