Description
This course offers a detailed introduction to semiconductor devices and operational amplifiers, which are essential building blocks of modern electronic and communication systems. It is designed to help students understand the fundamental concepts, operating principles, characteristics, and practical applications of various semiconductor components widely used in analog and digital electronics. The course begins with the study of semiconductors and PN junction diodes, including their construction, working principles, and characteristics. It also covers Zener diodes and their applications in voltage regulation and protection circuits.
Students will gain comprehensive knowledge of Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs), Junction Field Effect Transistors (JFETs), and Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs). The course explains transistor operation, transistor biasing, and the use of transistors as switches and amplifiers. Different transistor configurations such as Common Emitter (CE), Common Base (CB), and Common Collector (CC) are discussed in detail to help students understand amplification, input-output characteristics, and practical circuit behavior.
