The course Combinational and Sequential Circuits Design Using Xilinx Vivado - Hands-On Approach provides students with a strong foundation in digital system design through practical, tool-oriented learning. This course focuses on the design, analysis, simulation, and implementation of combinational and sequential circuits using industry-standard FPGA design tools. Students will begin with a review of digital logic concepts, including Boolean algebra, logic gates, and minimization techniques, and progressively move toward more complex digital building blocks.Emphasis is placed on hands-on experience using Xilinx Vivado, where students will learn Hardware Description Language (HDL)-based design methodologies using Verilog or VHDL. Core topics include the design of adders, multiplexers, decoders, flip-flops, registers, counters, and finite state machines, along with timing, clocking, and reset considerations. Students will gain experience in RTL simulation, synthesis, implementation, and timing analysis within the Vivado design flow.The course bridges the gap between theory and practice by enabling learners to implement and verify their designs on Xilinx FPGA hardware. Through structured laboratory exercises and mini-projects, students will develop practical debugging, optimization, and validation skills aligned with current industry practices.
