eDrawings is the easiest way to share data across multiple CAD environments with CAD users and non-CAD users alike. With unique capabilities such as point-and-click animations, hyperlinking and STL output, eDrawings helps everyone to interpret and understand both 2D and 3D design data including Product & Manufacturing Information (PMI) created using CAD Model Based Definition.
Fast, reliable, and convenient, eDrawings files provide representations of 3D models and 2D drawings for many of the most widely used CAD systems on the market. The electronic data format of eDrawings files is highly compressed, enabling easy transmission via email. When viewed with the eDrawings Viewer, these files provide intelligent interpretation tools (3D Pointer, Virtual Folding, Animated Drawing Views) that help the recipient easily understand and navigate the data they receive. eDrawings files can be created using many popular CAD products using the eDrawings Publisher add-in.
eDrawings Professional extends the functionality of the eDrawings Viewer so you can mark up, measure, and make comments directly on designs. It also provides the unique ability to publish eDrawings files as review-enabled, which is like embedding a markup pen in your document. Recipients are able to mark up and measure the eDrawings file using the free eDrawings Viewer. They do not need to purchase eDrawings Professional or other software to view the files. eDrawings Professional also includes advanced viewing capabilities such as dynamic component translation and dynamic cross-section views. eDrawings Professional is intended primarily for CAD users who need to both share product designs and coordinate design reviews.

It also significantly strengthens HCL's automotive and industrial practices.
