Dr hab. Anna Myczkowska-Szczerska from the Faculty of Industrial Forms of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts Jan Matejko created a origami protective mask. This proposal can be an ad hoc and helpful solution in situations where we do not have a professional protective mask. See step by step how to do it.
All you need is a piece of thin paper towel, two rubber bands and two staples to make the mask. The design is based on the Asian art of paper folding - origami, which allows you to obtain spatial forms from a flat piece of material through a series of folds, without cuts or gluing.
The result of folding the paper is a stable, multi-layered form that sits very well on the face, covering the area from nose to chin. The mask should lie on the face, but it should not be pressed particularly hard so as not to obstruct breathing. Multi-layered paper gives good insulation.
Below you can download instructions on how to assemble such a mask yourself.
