The Return of a Legend

In 1987 Roland Corporation made history with one of the most easily attainable yet best sounding synthesizers to ever grace recording studios, nightclubs and stadiums. Known for its exceptional strings, winds and choirs, top recordings for years after its release would resonate with the legendary sounds.

Using ultra-deep sampling, we brought 1987 back with a level of fidelity that has not been possible to attain without actually owning vintage hardware. Every note of every original 8-bit and Linear Arithmetic Synthesized patch has been painstakingly captured, elegantly representing the subtleties of this ground-breaking instrument.

When realizing this masterpiece of yesteryear, we didn't stop with the sound. One of the key things that made the original so well loved was its ease of use. Anthology 1987 takes the ease of use found in the original synthesizer to a whole new level for today's demanding software instrument user. Controls are intuitive, accessible and right where your workflow expects them to be. Because this instrument is hosted Roland Cloud Player, you can host multiple instruments per track or host the same voice across multiple tracks with different parameters.
