February 5th, 1970 -That was the day I began my lifelong career of guitar education. Since then, I've discovered my passion truly lies in inspiring my students to realize their musical dreams. I am a self-taught musician, and throughout my 51+ years of teaching I've been a student of how people learn.
My role as a coach is to teach you how to know and hear the information in your head, see it on your instrument, and execute it with flawless technique. I've instructed literally thousands of students ranging from absolute beginners to season...
Fretboard Visualization Vol. 1This course will show you how to study the neck without the limitations of your existing fingering protocol. Most guitarists play the same old tired licks, chord voicings, and melodic architecture because they let their fingers run the show
I'll show you how to Description out information on blank diagrams and then demonstrate how to develop music through the use of different fingerings and techniques. Not only will this approach serve you in your playing, but it will enable you to apply music theory to the fingerboard thus enabling you to achieve the ultimate goal of every serious musician: to know where to find the sounds in your head on your instrument.
Fretboard Visualization Vol. 2In this group of lessons, we'll view the various harmonies that reside in the Ionian and Dorian modes. This will be accomplished by thinking of each chord formula as a subset of the scale.
You'll then apply these groups of notes over the different jam tracks. We'll also look at intervals and relate them to fretboard "shapes". You'll then be able to apply these concepts to the E Phrygian, F Lydian, G Mixolydian and A Aeolian jam tracks which are provided in the last four lessons.
Fretboard Visualization Vol. 3This course will place special emphasis on the "shapes" that occur on the fretboard. These shapes always equate to intervals which are the building blocks of harmony and melody. You will learn to duplicate information in any position. This will enable you to be more at one with the guitar.
