DescriptionSomewhere right now, a family is walking miles for water clean enough to drink. A small vendor is closing shop over one missed loan payment. A child's future depends on which side of a healthcare gap they happened to be born into. Most people see problems like these and either reach for their wallet or look away. Social entrepreneurs see something else - a venture waiting to be built.
That's social entrepreneurship: businesses designed from day one to balance profit with impact on people and the planet. Not a side project, and not a "give back later" plan bolted onto a normal company - a different starting point altogether.
This course is a practitioner-led introduction to that world, built for anyone between 18 and 30 who's weighing what to build their career - or their next venture - around, and wants a framework more solid than inspiration alone.
You'll start by resetting a belief many of us carry without noticing: that "making money" and "doing good" sit on opposite ends of a scale, and you have to pick one. You don't. Some of the most resilient, sustainability enterprises in the world are built squarely in the overlap.
From there, three modules build out the framework. Module 1: introduces the People-Planet-Profit framework and reframes the world's toughest problems as its biggest opportunities. Module 2: draws a sharp line between conventional business and social enterprise. Module 3: puts it all to work, analyzing real social enterprises across energy, financial inclusion, health, and education - before you turn that same lens on a problem of your own.
Each lecture comes with a short hands-on lab, so you're practicing these ideas, not just absorbing them.
By the end, you won't just understand what social entrepreneurship is. You'll have a working framework for spotting real opportunities, a new lens on the world's toughest problems, and the first outline of an idea you could genuinely build.
