The Autodesk Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centre development team has released an update (HF1) to FeatureCAM 2021, is CNC programming software that allows you to automate your CAM workflow to NC code.

The fixes in FeatureCAM 2021.0.1. General
- Various graphic display element leaks were fixed. In very long sessions these leaks could accumulate, eventually causing a warning to appear, and possibly causing an unexpected exit from the software. The warning message is:
- This FeatureCAM session is reaching the limit of available Windows graphics resources. Saving your work and restarting FeatureCAM as soon as possible is recommended.
- The warning (and possible exit) will occur much less frequently with these fixes. In extremely long sessions, the warning may still be displayed and the suggested action is strongly recommended to avoid losing work unexpectedly.
Simulation
- Fixed an issue in which single stepping the simulation for some selected operations did not work.
- Fixed an issue in which a programmable B-axis toolblock did not work correctly on a lower turret, and a related issue in which this toolblock caused slot selection errors.
Posting
- Fixed an issue in which posting index moves for 4-axis NC code could output incorrect rotation moves when the setup angle and a pattern increment angle matched exactly.
Tool Library
- Note: In FeatureCAM 2018, there was an option for setting the tool database to the Autodesk Tool Data Service. This option was not available in FeatureCAM 2019 or FeatureCAM 2020, but if you had enabled it in FeatureCAM 2018, then the service still functioned. In a future 2021 update, this compatibility will be disabled.
- If you are currently using Autodesk Tool Data Service, switch to one of the other tool database options. If you are using this option, it is listed in the File > Database page of the Options dialog.
Related to the above notice, a warning dialog will now be displayed when you launch FeatureCAM if you are using this option.
Import
- Added support for Autodesk AutoCAD 2018 DXF files, which are also used by Autodesk AutoCAD 2021.
- Updated Autodesk Translation Framework to version 9.4
Machine attributes
- Fixed a problem in the user interface for rough passes of turn grooving, in which the Side Liftoff Distance and Side Liftoff Angle were swapped when set in Machine Attributes.
FeatureCAM Viewer
- A new FeatureCAM Viewer shortcut is available on the Start menu or as Autodesk FeatureCAM Viewer in the program folder. This shortcut launches FeatureCAM in a read-only mode, which can be used to examine toolpaths or review simulation results. No posting or file saving is allowed from FeatureCAM Viewer.
Add-ins
- Fixed an issue in the Import Vise add-in in which the amount of the part held was not being respected.
API
- Fixed an issue in which several save events were not working correctly.
- Fixed an issue in which certain sequences in a .net plugin would raise an error when launching.
- Fixed an issue in which XFMThreadTool::GetCopyOfHolderCurve was not working for a threading tool.
