RAM Elements CONNECT Edition V16 Update 1RAM Elements CONNECT Edition V16 Update 1 | 1.0 Gb
The RAM products development team is pleased to announce the availability of RAM Elements CONNECT Edition V16 Update 1. This solution delivers the industry's most productive and easy-to-use engineering analysis and design toolkit.
RAM Elements CONNECT Edition v16.01.00.66 Release Notes - Updated October 2019
Enhancements:
- New Brazilian NBR 8800-08 steel design standard for member design.
- New linear buckling analysis.
- New Ritz vectors and Lanczos/Arnoldi methods for Eigen analysis.
- New rotational stiffness springs for members end releases (M33) to model semi-rigid connections.
- New Subscription Entitlement Service. SES is a free service, featuring new behavior to enhance your organization's user administration and security with mandatory user sign-in via CONNECTION Client to access the application. Please click here for more info.
Resolved Issues:
- USACE strong name verification for some libraries (DLL). This has been corrected and all of them pass the verification.
- Several overhauls for High DPI monitors (4K) were included for icons, panels and dialogs.
- Deflections for Tilt-Up walls were not in agreement with ACI 551.2R for ACI 318-14. This is fixed and results now match the benchmark problems.
- Moment capacity for single axis (compact) calculations, was inaccurate for built-up and custom sections. This has been corrected and the capacity is now accurate.
- Some old format model files (*.AVW and *.ADV) were not being converted correctly to the latest format (*.RETX). This now works properly for all legacy formats.
- The shear capacity for tapered members when shear stiffeners are present, required tension field action (TFA) in order to be correct. This is now mended, and the capacity is correct even if no TFA is present.
- For custom cold-formed sections, the slenderness for shear capacity was considering the wrong section thickness. The proper thickness is now included in the calculation.
RAM Elements CONNECT Edition v16.01.01.74 Release Notes - Updated March 2020
This is a patch for v16.1 release.
Resolved Issues:
- Wind pressure for areas and members dialogs were not working properly for all units systems. This has been corrected.
- Incorrect depth for HSS16x4x3/16 in section database - United States group - HSS Rect table. This is fixed now.
- Steel member design per AISC 360-16 was reporting different results than AISC 360-10 for interactions per H1.1 and H1.3. This has been corrected and both codes report the same results.
- Tilt-Up Design module was not calculating deflections correctly when Ma > 2/3 Mcr. Deflections are being reported correctly for all cases now.
- Tilt-Up Design module using Simplified Method was not calculating properly the wall self weight. This is fixed now.
Welcome to RAM Elements, the structural engineer's toolkit system, for analysis and design of almost any type of structure or structural component complete with sophisticated design tools to help you with your everyday analysis and design needs.
This program provides unequaled flexibility for the design and analysis of different types of 2D or 3D structures containing linear members and shell elements.
The types of analysis available are: First order (Linear Analysis), Second order (P-Delta Analysis) and Dynamic (Seismic Analysis).
In addition, RAM Elements is also capable of designing hot-rolled or cold-formed steel members, wood (sawn lumber and glulam) and reinforced concrete members using the AISC 360-05 ASD, AISC 360-05 LRFD, AISC 360-10 ASD, AISC 360-10 LRFD, AISC 360-16 ASD, AISC 360-16 LRFD, AISC 341-05, AISC 341-10, AISC 341-16, BS 5950-00, AISI 01 ASD, AISI 01 LRFD, AISI 07 ASD, AISI 07 LFRD, AISI 2012 ASD, AISI 2012 LFRD, AISI 2016 ASD, AISI 2016 LFRD, AS 4100-98, CSA S16-09, NDS 05 ASD, NDS 05 LRFD, ACI 318-05, ACI 318-08, ACI 318-11, ACI 318-14 and BS8110-97 codes respectively. The program includes special modules for designing spread footings, combined footings, reinforced concrete columns, retaining walls, concrete walls, tilt-up walls, masonry walls, continuous beams and trusses. Additionally, RAM Elements has links with RAM Connection, a revolutionary tool that allows the fast design of steel connections inside or outside RAM Elements, STAAD.Pro, the RAM Structural System and ProSteel (SDNF).
