Blackmagic Design is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Davinci Resolve Studio 16 Beta 3. The last release introduces many improvements throughout the user interface, performance enhancements, support for additional formats, and more collaborative and color management features to support an even wider variety of workflows than before.

        What's new in DaVinci Resolve 16 beta 3
- Support for dragging smart bins to smart bin folders
- Support for copying retime and scaling attributes between clips in the edit timeline
- Support for a timecode generator output in Fairlight page for driving external audio applications
- Improved behavior for Elastic Wave with the ability to stretch or compress ends of the clip
- Improved behavior when compositing compound clips containing gaps
- Improved support for video names and descriptions for Vimeo, YouTube and Frame.io exports from the deliver page and quick export dialog
- Improved support for keyboard shortcuts for clip and timeline actions in cut page
- Improved performance when marquee selecting multiple clips in edit page
- Improved playback performance when selection follows playhead is enabled in the edit page
- Improved bit rate handling when using AMD hardware acceleration to encode H.264 and H.265 clips
- Improved naming behavior for duplicated bins, clips, and timelines in the media pool
Issues addressed in DaVinci Resolve 16 beta 3
- Addressed an issue where smart bins would not be listed in floating media pool windows
- Addressed an issue where smart bin folders would briefly display wrong content when first opened
- Addressed an issue where enabling use timeline bin in project settings presets would sometimes cause a crash
- Addressed an issue where changing video clip attributes for multiple clips would not preserve their audio channel mapping
- Addressed an issue where the reel name metadata would be incorrectly read for video and audio clips when importing third party XMLs
- Addressed an issue where importing some metadata files to the media pool would result in incorrect metadata being displayed for some clips
- Addressed an issue where through edits could not be joined in the cut page
- Addressed an issue where trimming clips in the Cut timeline would not correctly scroll

Edit
- Addressed an issue where dynamic trimming media with synced multi-channel audio would cause a crash
- Addressed an issue where the decompose compound clip option would not be respected when appending a compound clip to the edit timeline
- Addressed an issue where cleaning up video tracks by flattening unused clips would incorrectly allow adjustment clips to overwrite clips underneath
- Addressed an issue with the display of audio waveforms for stacked or tabbed timelines in the edit page
- Addressed an issue where the keyboard shortcut to switch to timeline viewer would not work correctly in single viewer mode
- Addressed an issue where the ripple sequence setting would not be honored when changing clip speeds in the edit page

- Addressed an issue where B-Chain setup in Fairlight would be limited to the active output audio device
- Addressed an issue where the Foley Sampler would sometimes not detect the correct fundamental frequency of an added sample
- Addressed an issue where loading FairlightFX Foley Sampler presets would not work correctly
- Addressed an issue where the solo state of an audio track would not be persisted when its VCA state was toggled
- Addressed an issue where zooming the Fairlight timeline would not correctly refresh the main bus loudness history
- Addressed an issue where audio clips fades created using automation would play back with artifacts in the Fairlight page
