CPFD Software, LLC is pleased to announce the release of Barracuda Virtual Reactor 17.3.1, engineering software for simulation and analysis of fluidized bed reactors and other gas-solid systems.

Barracuda Virtual Reactor is specialized CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation software used by leading engineering service providers, OEMs and manufacturers worldwide in oil refining, petrochemical, energy, and minerals processing industries to design, troubleshoot and optimize industrial fluidized bed reactors (FBRs) - improving profitability and competitive advantage through improved equipment performance, lower warranty risk and rework, higher yields, lower operating costs and longer up-time.

Virtual Reactor software is recognized as providing a unique capability to model industrial FBRs at full-scale, changing how fluidized bed reactors are traditionally designed and optimized. Virtual Reactor is able to handle both the scale and complexity of the internal operation of FBRs due its proprietary modeling technology that, unlike other CFD methods, can effectively simulate gas-solid systems containing any number of particles with any particle size distribution. Barracuda Virtual Reactor is computationally efficient and exploits low-cost parallel computing hardware enabling customers to deploy the software without requiring investment in expensive high-performance computing resources
