Released in 2009 through Sony Music's catalog department, Original Album Classics bundles five albums by the Brecker Brothers: The Brecker Bros. (1975), Don't Stop the Music (1977), Heavy Metal Be-Bop (1978), Détente (1980), and Straphangin' (1980). That's five of the duo's first six albums for the Arista label; for whatever reason, the label skipped past 1976's Back to Back, one of the Breckers' better albums. Encased in a simple cardboard sleeve, the set includes each disc in a standard jewel case. The thorough and more attractive The Complete Arista Albums Collection, released in 2012, easily trumps this. ~ Andy Kellman
