The National Instruments team is pleased to announce the availability of NI Device Drivers 2019.1 which provides popular NI instrument drivers you can use to control NI and third-party hardware.

NI Device Drivers      is a bundle that features most NI instrument drivers, including NI-DAQmx, NI-VISA, NI-SCOPE, and NI-SWITCH. You can install NI Device Drivers to easily enable your software to recognize important hardware components and interface with them.

        Supported Operating Systems This installation requires one of the following Microsoft operating systems:

- Windows 10/8.1*/7 SP1**
- Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1**
- Windows Server 2012 R2*
- Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1**

This installation requires that version 3.1 of the MSI (Windows Installer) Engine is installed on your computer. If you do not have MSI 3.1 or later, the installer updates the engine automatically and may require you to restart your computer.

Note In 2016 NI Device Drivers dropped support for Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and installations of Windows 7 without any service packs. NI Device Drivers will not install or run on an unsupported OS. You cannot deploy or distribute applications that use NI Device Drivers to an unsupported OS. Additionally, after installing NI Device Drivers, you cannot use any installers built on this computer with any version of LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, NI TestStand, or Measurement Studio on an unsupported OS.
Note Support for Windows 32-bit operating systems may require disabling physical address extension (PAE).

* NI software installs VC2015 Runtime and .NET 4.6.2. Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 require Microsoft updates to support these items.
** NI software is signed with a SHA-256 certificate. Windows 7 SP1, Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1, and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 require Microsoft updates to support SHA-256.

Driver Version Naming Changes
Driver versions are now aligned with the versions of major NI application software products. This alignment gives you information about the year the driver was released and the most recent software version with which the driver was designed to work. Driver versions now start with a two-digit year indicator. For example, NI-DAQmx 14.0.0 is the version released with LabVIEW 2014. The last version released under the old numbering scheme is NI-DAQmx 9.9. The first version released under the new numbering scheme is NI-DAQmx 14.0.0.
