Xamarin.Forms is Microsoft's way to create cross-platform mobile applications for iOS, Android and UWP. Using this framework, we can achieve the dream of writing code once and running it on all target platforms. For .NET developers, getting started with Xamarin.Forms is easy since the apps can be built using C# and XAML. Thanks to its support for XAML, Xamarin.Forms comes with support out-of-the-box for data binding. Using data binding, the code that we'll need to write to create data-driven applications will be much cleaner. Instead of mixing code that accesses the data model with code that updates the UI using data, we'll get a declarative way for building this type of interfaces. In this course, you'll understand the way data binding works in XAML, including binding modes, the BindingContext and converters. You'll also understand how changes in the data model can be reflected automatically in the UI using change notifications. Data binding also has in Xamarin.Forms a number of nice features including fallbacks, data triggers and more and it's also the foundation for MVVM. After watching this course, you'll be on your way to create much cleaner code for your mobile line-of-business applications.
