SmartEdit is a Microsoft Word Add-In for creative writers. It takes the heavy lifting out of the editing process, making your job easier and faster. If you're writing a novel or short story SmartEdit will help you polish that first draft in record time.

Identify word and phrase over-use
Do you begin your sentences with the same word or phrase? Are you using certain words too often? SmartEdit will spot these easily over-looked shortcomings so you can fix them.

Monitor adverbs, crutch words & clichés
Do you lean on certain words and phrases? Do you use a few too many adverbs? Are you overly fond of unusual dialogue tags? SmartEdit will find and help you fix these problems.

Improve sentence structure & punctuation
Too many long sentences? SmartEdit will help you fix that in minutes. Do you have a misplaced love for the semi-colon? SmartEdit will show them all to you so you can decide if they belong.

It does not tell you to remove or replace a word

System Requirements
SmartEdit is Windows only. It will run on all recent versions of Windows: 10, 8.1, and 7.
SmartEdit is an Add-In for Microsft Word. Word 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010 and Office 365 are supported. There is no MAC version, and there are no plans to build a Mac version in the short or medium term. The software will run on 32 and 64 bit architectures & regular as well as High Resolution monitors. Windows tablets with touch screens are supported, as long they have a full Windows 10 operating system.
