Validate Duplicate Tags
Validation can now identify duplicate tags in both P&ID and 3D piping drawings. A new Duplicated Tags validation option is available for P&ID Objects and 3D Piping in the P&ID Validation Settings dialog box.


When duplicate tags are found, the validation results display detailed errors beneath the Items with Duplicate Tags node in the Validation Summary window.


Note:
- For new projects, the Duplicated Tags option is enabled by default. For existing projects, it is disabled by default.
- For Collaboration projects, changes made in the P&ID Validation Settings dialog box require Project Setup to be checked out and then checked back in so that the updated validation settings are synchronized with the cloud.

Validate 3D Model to P&ID Checks for Drawings
Drawing validation can now include checks between 3D models and their corresponding P&ID drawings. Validation errors generated by these checks appear in the Validation Summary window when one or more drawings are validated.
When a P&ID drawing is validated, its related 3D model can also be checked for inconsistencies. Conversely, validating a 3D model can include its associated P&ID drawings in the validation process.
Validation Performance Improvements
Validation is more efficient for rules that do not require drawing files to be opened. In these cases, checks can be performed directly against the project database, reducing the need to load individual drawings during validation.
Audit for Duplicate Tags
Project Audit can identify and resolve duplicate tag values stored in the project database for several line group data types.

  • SignalLineGroups
  • P3dLineGroups
When duplicate tags are identified, a question mark (?) is appended to the duplicate value to maintain uniqueness. If the tag is later no longer duplicated, the question mark is removed automatically.
Combine Multiple Audit Sessions
Project Audit has been consolidated so that multiple audit sessions can be handled as a single session, reducing the need to repeat audit operations during project maintenance.
Duplicate Tag Check for Collaboration Projects
Collaboration projects can check assigned tags against cloud data to identify conflicts before drawings are checked in. Once a tag is confirmed, it is reserved in the cloud so other users cannot assign the same tag until the related changes are committed.
Note: Tags are committed to the cloud when drawings are checked in. Until that point, reserved tags help prevent conflicts between users.
The PLANTCOLLABORATIONONLINE system variable determines whether duplicate tags and automatically generated tag values are validated and synchronized with the cloud in Collaboration projects.
Assign Tag Dialog Box
When duplicate tag checking is enabled and a matching tag already exists in the cloud, an error message appears immediately and requires a unique tag to be entered.
Auto-Generated Tag Synchronization
When enabled, automatically generated tag values are retrieved from the cloud to maintain consistent tag numbering among users working within the same Collaboration project.
Spec Editor Enhancements (What's New in 2027.1)
The Spec Editor includes improvements for valve actuator properties, catalog searching, validation, and general workflow handling.
  • Valve actuator height and width can be overridden instead of being acquired automatically.
  • Catalog Browser parts can be located using Size Filters and Property Overrides.
  • Spec Editor usability, validation, and workflow behavior have been improved.
Override Reported Valve Actuator Height and Width
Valve actuator height and width can now be controlled through Acquire and Override modes in catalogs. The Actuator Height and Actuator Width fields display an icon showing which mode is currently active.
Override Mode
Override mode allows a custom mapping value to be selected from the available drop-down list.
  • Select the required value from the drop-down list.
  • Hold Alt and click the mode icon to reset both properties to Acquire mode.
Acquire Mode
Acquire mode obtains the mapped value automatically.
  • Click the mode icon to change to Override mode before modifying the mapping.
  • Hold Alt and click the mode icon to switch both properties to Override mode.

Size Filter and Property Overrides in the Catalog Browser
The Catalog Browser provides Size Filters and Property Overrides for locating catalog components and controlling property values when parts are added to a specification.
Note: These settings can be changed only when the Spec tab is active.

Size Filter
The Size Filter determines which part sizes are displayed for the active catalog. Clicking Set next to Spec Size Filter in the upper-right area of the Catalog Browser opens the Size Filter dialog box.

The Size Filter dialog box provides several criteria for narrowing the catalog results:
  • Define the minimum and maximum part sizes to display.
  • Specify the size range used for reducing parts.
  • Select individual part sizes to exclude from the results.

Note:
- Only the sizes shown in the Catalog Browser after the filter is applied are added to the specification through Add to Spec.
- The filter applies only to the active catalog.
- Changing catalogs clears the current filter.
- After filtering, the selected size range is displayed next to Spec Size Filter.
- Clicking the displayed size range opens the Size Filter dialog box for further changes.
- Hovering over the displayed range and clicking the X icon clears the filter.

Property Overrides
Property Overrides allow selected property values to be replaced when catalog parts are added to a specification. Clicking Set next to Spec Overrides in the upper-right area of the Catalog Browser opens the Property Overrides dialog box.

To create a property override in the Spec Property Overrides dialog box:
  • Select a property from the drop-down list or enter its name manually.
  • Enter the required property value.
  • Click Add Row to create additional property overrides.
  • Select a property row and click Remove Row when an override needs to be removed.
When parts are added to a specification, the defined property values are applied automatically and replace the corresponding values in the specification.

Additional Improvements
  • Spec Description supports multi-line editing with scrolling as well as keyboard and mouse navigation.
  • Required property validation is enforced in the Property Editor. An empty or invalid required value produces an Invalid Input task dialog when saving.
  • The Add button in the Catalog Property Editor remains available when a custom property contains an invalid default value, while a message box explains how to correct the value.
  • Valve operators with identical sizes but different geometry dimensions display correctly in the Operator Mapping dialog box.
  • The Long Description (size) list in the Valve Operator Mapping dialog box is sorted alphabetically by default.
  • Branch Table scaling can be adjusted from 10% to 400% by holding Ctrl and scrolling the mouse wheel.
  • The Property Filter icon is positioned in the left column of the Catalog Browser.
  • Decimal values are imported correctly from Excel with non-English regional format settings.
