Interested in FastAPI but unsure where to start? Read books and tutorials but still find it hard to write the code yourself?
This is a hands-on drill course structured as a 30-day curriculum, with one coding exercise per day covering the fundamentals of FastAPI.
The course uses a small-step format: each day's exercise takes about 15-30 minutes and builds directly on the previous day's content, gradually adding API features one at a time.
Environment setup is handled with CodeSandbox, a fully browser-based development environment - no installation on your PC required, so you can begin coding in your browser right away.
30-Day Roadmap[Week 1] FastAPI Basics and Routing (Days 1-7)
Start with the simplest possible API. Cover path and query parameters, the difference between HTTP methods (GET/POST), and finish the week by building a simple in-memory Todo API.
[Week 2] Request Body and Pydantic (Days 8-14)
Data validation with Pydantic, one of FastAPI's most powerful features. Cover required and optional inputs, nested data structures, and full CRUD operations.
[Week 3] Database Integration and Dependency Injection (Days 15-21)
Database operations used in real-world development: separating API schemas from DB models, dependency injection, and building a book management API.
[Week 4] Authentication, Testing, and Final Project (Days 22-30)
Practical topics including password hashing, JWT-based authentication, CORS configuration, and automated testing with pytest. The final project is an authentication-enabled blog API with user registration, login, and post features, built from scratch using the techniques covered in the course.
Course Features- Hands-on drill format: every exercise involves actually writing code, not just watching videos.
- Gradual difficulty curve: features are added little by little each day, moving from basic routing to a complete authenticated API.
