What's new in Corona 14 Update 1:- High Resolution option for the Corona Moon. More surface detail, and no aliased edges, when rendering a "super-sized" Corona Moon.
- IES Lights export to Vantage. IES settings from your Corona Lights will export to Vantage.
- All bug fixes that would have been otherwise released as a Hotfix 1.
New Licensing Option:This is the main purpose of this release. Now you can choose to remove one link in the chain for licensing, giving one less point where issues can arise. Previously, Corona would communicate with another program, the Local License Server, which would then communicate across the internet with the Chaos Servers in order to obtain a license. If you choose the new Cloud Licensing option, then that middle step is removed and Corona can directly communicate with the Chaos Servers, meaning one less program is involved.
This is optional. During install you can choose to use the new Cloud Licensing, or the previous local License Server approach, and you can swap between those approaches after installation too so you are not locked-in to whatever option you select. The buffer period against internet outages is the same for both options. More details are over on our documentation pages, where you can check the installation instructions .
There are some situations where you would want to choose the existing License Server option during installation, those are detailed in our documentation and a short summary of the two most likely ones are below:
1) You have a network of computers where, for security reasons etc., all machines except one are restricted from the internet. You will need to continue to use the Licenser Server, which will run on the internet enabled machine and which will be contacted by all the other machines on the local network when they need a license.

2) If you have a machine without AVX 2 support (that is, the machine is from 2013 or earlier), as the Cloud Licensing code requires AVX 2. This should be a very small number of users, but we wanted to let you know!
