Channel Structure in Uplink and Downlink
What is SSB Block and the Mapping on resource grid?
Understand the functionality and mapping of each Downlink and Uplink channel
Description
This course provides a detailed overview of all the 5G Channels and covers the following information:
First, it will provide an introduction to the 5G Service based architecture and we will look at HTTP POST, PUT, GET messages used among the 5G control plane core Network Functions.
We will take a look at the 5G NR Channels - Logical, Transport, and Physical, briefly describe them, and understand the difference between 4G and 5G channels.
Following which we will understand the Synchronization Block (SSB), which is a combination of PSS, SSS, and PBCH. So, the functionality, position in the time domain, and frequency domain is discussed.
We will understand the PDCCH structure in 5G and look at the different DCI formats available. Understand the PUCCH channel and the information that it will carry in NR. We will finally address the Shared channels in the Uplink (PUSCH) and Downlink (PDSCH) structure. we will then understand in detail about the physical channel processing. Finally, Uplink Random channel PRACH functionality will be discussed
Lastly, we will talk about the reference signals (DMRS, PT-RS etc.) in 5G, discuss their functionality, time and frequency domain position in the 5G resource grid, and understand how different they are from the legacy generation.
