CFturbo, Inc., a software company specializing in turbomachinery design software and consulting, announced the new release of their upgraded software, CFturbo 2020.R1.

What's new in CFturbo 2020 R1 - Date: May 2020

From now on, providing two major software releases each year, CFturbo is continually enhancing its design capabilities. The new release contains many new and upgraded features based on customer feedback and the continuously evolving turbomachinery market.

Among the significant new features in CFturbo 2020.R1 are an inverse blade design method based on blade loading, a flexible blade angle distribution and the explicit rake angle definition, the enhanced design of multistage machines, significantly streamlined integration of CFturbo into ANSYS Workbench, and the extension of design parameters for volute optimizations. 

Unlike any other Turbomachinery design software on the market, CFturbo can be uniquely combined with different CAE-codes of third party vendors like ANSYS, NUMECA, SIEMENS PLM, and SIMERICS, or open-source simulation software.

CFturbo     is made to interactively design radial, mixed-flow and axial turbomachinery: pumps, ventilators, compressors, turbines. The software is easy to use and does enable quick generation and variation of impeller, stator and volute geometries. Several models can be displayed, compared and modified simultaneously.

It contains numerous approximation functions that may be customized by the user in order to implement user specific knowledge into the CFturbo-based design process. In spite of the creation of semiautomatic proposals, fundamental experiences in turbomachinery design are helpful but not necessary. An experienced turbomachinery design engineer should be able to design new high-quality impellers and volutes more easily and quickly.

In this video we'll be demonstrating the aerodynamic design of an axial, contra-rotating fan, including a CFD-simulation.

        CFturbo runs under the 64 bit Windows versions currently supported by Microsoft. Currently these are Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Hardware requirement is a modern office PC. Integration of geometry data into the CAE environment is easily possible by direct interfaces to various CAD- and CFD-systems.
