IAR Systems recently released new version of IAR Embedded Workbench for Microchip AVR version 7.20.1. Included in the new version added new features, new device support which make it possible for developers to gain better performance in low-power AVR-based applications.

About IAR Embedded Workbench for Microchip AVR.    IAR Embedded Workbench for AVR is a proprietary high efficiency compiler not based on GCC. Programming and debugging of Xplained Pro kits are supported in IAR Embedded Workbench for AVR using the Atmel-ICE interface. Some initial settings have to be set up in the project to get the programming and debugging to work.
