Become proficient with SDN, Openflow, and Mininet. Software defined networking (SDN) virtualizes a subset of a networking infrastructure, similar to virtualizing servers in a data center. OpenFlow is a communications protocol that gives access to the forwarding plane of a network switch or router over the network. Mininet is a network emulator which simulates a network of virtual hosts, controllers, switches, and links. Mininet hosts run standard Linux and its switches support OpenFlow for custom routing.
