Dassault Systèmes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, has released an hot fix to DS SIMULIA Suite 2019.The R2019X release includes new ways in which all products are working more closely together, delivering a high level of coordinated enhancements for "out of the box" end-to-end industry processes.

Upgrading to a Hot Fix Release:

To upgrade any of the SIMULIA software products, you install a hot fix. A fix pack is a release that contains acollection of hot fixes for individual media.

        In order to upgrade to a hot fix, you must first have the general availability (GA) release installed, for example Abaqus 2019.

Each fix pack contains, at minimum, a hot fix with updated Abaqus services (solvers), Abaqus/CAE, and Tosca.

The hot fixes for the Abaqus services, Abaqus/CAE, and Tosca are delta installations, containing only the changedfiles required to upgrade the software. The delta installations provide a rollback option, which you can use ifyou want to ignore the hot fix and restore the previous version for any reason. If you decide to keep the new hotfix, you must use the commit option in the Dassault Systèmes Software Management tool. Committing a hot fixmeans applying the hot fix to your installation so that it becomes the official working level-this deletes theoutdated files of the previous level, saving disk space. Once you use the commit option to permanently acceptthe changes, the rollback option is no longer available. These options allow you to test the new functionalitywithout the hard disk space or time needed for another full installation.

If you prefer to leave your GA installation intact and install the hot fix separately, you must first install a separatecopy of the GA software and then apply the hot fix upgrade to that.

The hot fixes for Isight and the SIMULIA Execution Engine are not delta installations; they install a completenew set of files.

When you install a hot fix upgrade of the SIMULIA documentation, the HTML and PDF files are automaticallyre-indexed for the search engine.

The standard hot fix upgrades for each product must be installed separately. For the release 2019 hot fixes,however, a suite installer is available to upgrade all products at once.

Power'By for Simulation  - In R2019X the company has focused on allowing users to maintain and secure their existing simulation intellectual property while benefiting from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This includes running and managing Abaqus, Simpack, XFlow and CST Studio Suite simulations from the platform and sharing the results of those simulations with others. Specific enhancements include the ability to upload result data, Descriptions, and animations for both XFlow Specialist (for fluid simulation) and Simpack Specialist (for multibody simulation).
Fluid Simulation for Designers/Engineers  - R2019X continues to enhance Dassault Systèmes' computational fluid dynamics (CFD) portfolio, which covers both mainstream and industry-specific CFD simulation. 3DEXPERIENCE Simulation R2019x now provides the most complete CFD solution for designers and engineers using CATIA on the market today, according to the company.
Enhanced Digital Additive Manufacturing  - R2019X is designed to increase AM efficiency, usability and confidence that parts will "Print to Perform" with the following enhancements: assembly, support, thermal optimization, automated smooth-geometry reconstruction, an improved Eigenstrain method and a new voxel-based mesher to simplify complex geometries.
